This quilt is a tribute to my good friend Mary Ellen Hopkins who passed along the love of “getting it done” and having fun along the way. These eight simple little blocks used in diagonal rows can provide hours of sewing fun and lots of exciting projects. Mary Ellen developed the method of using connector corners utilized in these blocks as a means of ‘getting around’ triangles and difficult measurements. There are many ways to do this job but in this project I have chosen to use only her methods.
My journey in this industry would likely not have happened if this feisty little lady and I had never met. I could write volumes about our travels and good times but suffice it to say she touched many in her time on earth and left us all with great memories. I am forever grateful she came into my life.

Heart warming
I probably bought this pattern for a different reason than most who bought it. I attended several Mary Ellen Seminars and learned so much. I thought the tribute that Kay wrote was heart warming and I couldn't agree with her more. A friend and I were recently discussing the fact that Mary Ellen taught is so much about how we look at quilts. Thanks Kay for a pattern that illustrates Mary Ellen's techniques and for a touching tribute
